Many of the women in the Tuko Pamoja Program have HIV+ children enrolled in the Nyumbani Lea Toto Outreach Clinics in the compromised communities around Nairobi. Each of eight centers serve from 300-500 children. The staff at these clinics are front line responders and put their lives on the line every day. Now there is a way we can help them… they need office chairs. Seems so basic but with budget cuts and money allocated to keeping clients alive, they are down to simply a few chairs per center. There is nowhere for the clients to sit when they visit each center’s various departments and even the workers are lacking chairs. For $10 a chair can be made and paid for, with the fringe benefit of putting several carpenters back to work. These hard-working saints have earned a place to sit, so taken for granted, almost impossible to imagine. Please help us help them by giving their weary bones a place to take a rest, recharge, and SIT.
Make sure you visit the Tuko Pamoja Shop, where you can also support our women with the purchase of their unique handcrafted items. 100% of your purchase cost goes right to the women to educate their children! Win-Win! You can thank us later, as we will be thanking you for your donation!
